LO'S SWEETS

SINCE 2025

Founded during the pandemic, Lo’s Sweets & Treats began as a heartfelt return to family roots and a love for baking. What started as selling homemade treats on social media quickly grew into something much bigger, inspiring a mother-daughter duo to officially build the business together. Shante brings deep experience, having owned her own bakery in 1999, while Jasmyne quite literally grew up in the bakery, learning the craft from an early age. Today, baking is truly a family affair passed down through generations, with Cayden and Collyn now baking alongside the family, helping with sales, and even running vending events. Our story is rooted in resilience, legacy, and the joy of sharing homemade treats with our community.

STORY

Lo’s Sweets is named in honor of Lorine Johnson, the heart and inspiration behind our family’s love for food and tradition. Born in the Wappanocca area of Crittenden County, Arkansas, Lorine attended high school in Crawfordsville, AR, before later moving to Chicago, where she began raising her family. Despite building a life away from Arkansas, she never forgot her roots and made it a priority to return nearly every summer, introducing her children to her hometown, heritage, and upbringing. At the center of those visits was her Southern cooking, always prepared with love and passion, using recipes she learned as a child and young woman. Her Southern soul lives on through her children and in the food they continue to make, lovingly preserved through memory, tradition, and every recipe shared.
